There are various pieces of legislation that Pikitup has to comply with. Some of the legislation is general and relates to the general management and operation of a public entity, labour relations and others. There are, however, legislation that is specific to waste management that has to be complied with as well.
From the national and City of Johannesburg strategic plans and direction, Pikitup developed a clear strategic focus for the entity. The operations and focus of the company is informed by the core mandate of the company and mitigation plans are developed and implemented to address the challenges faced in execution of the mandate.Compliance to legislation is monitored and included in the operations and risk management processes of the company.
