Special waste This type of waste consists of liquid, sludge or solid substances resulting from manufacturing processes, industrial treatment or pre-treatment for disposal purposes of any industrial or mining liquid waste, which may not be discharged into a drain or sewer . |

Landfill sites Pikitup manages 4 landfill sites which are permitted in terms of clause 20(1) of the Environmental Conservation Act 73 of 1989. All solid waste, excluding medical and hazardous waste is accepted at the landfill sites for disposal.
