Clean Up Day goes social |
|
In most instances litter and illegal dumping isn’t something that would get people talking but Clean Up Day has become such a phenomenon that Pikitup has developed a Facebook fan page and twitter profile. Both are called “A Cleaner Joburg” and are expected to have an explosively growing fan base within weeks. “We’ve had such an incredible response to the announcement about Clean Up Day on 05 June that we needed to develop new platforms for communicating with supporters of the initiative,” says Zami Nkosi, Managing Director of Pikitup. “The call center alone would not have been able to handle the demand for information and content about Clean Up Day however with the website and social media we can now engage with more people more efficiently”. The Clean Up Day social media portals can be accessed on: Twitter: http://twitter.com/acleanerjoburg
More information on Clean Up Day can be obtained on the Pikitup website www.pikitup.co.zaor by contacting Pikitup through Joburg Connect on 011 375 5555. Residents wishing to take part on Pikitup Day are invited to visit this site and register. 01/06/2010 |
