Media - Schedule to Resume 22 April 2010

Refuse Collection Schedule to resume Thursday 22 April 2010

Following the week and half long municipal strike, Pikitup announces that its normal refuse collection schedule will resume today, Thursday 22 April. The schedule will commence with only Thursday rounds, and will proceed with normal rounds on Friday, going back to the familiar schedule from next week.

Pikitup will collect waste from the 240 litre wheelie bins as well as any excess waste packaged in proper refuse bags which would be easier to load onto the trucks.

The backlog will be addressed accordingly. Pikitup will pick up on Monday 26, as well as on the public holiday, Tuesday 27th.

Our garden sites experienced high volumes of green waste during the strike, while some are open; we are working on emptying all bins and clearing illegal dumping to make them all fully operational.
