Mayor Mashaba and Pikitup to lead multi-departmental clean-up campaign in Lenasia CBD

Today, Tuesday, 11 April 2017, the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Herman Mashaba, in partnership with Pikitup, will lead a multi-departmental clean-up campaign within the Lenasia CBD.
Lenasia is a rapidly growing suburb which has shopping malls, churches, mosques, banks and various commercial and industrial sectors. Unfortunately, the area is also plagued by illegal dumping and infrastructure that has been neglected.
The clean-up campaign will by supported by officials from City Power, City Parks and the Joburg Roads Agency (JRA).
During the cleaning-campaign, Mayor Mashaba will also engage with informal traders and members of the local business forum.
The Executive Mayor will be accompanied by MMC for Environment and Infrastructure Services, Cllr Nico de Jager, MMC for Community Development, Cllr Nonhlanhla Sifuma, and the MMC responsible for Region G, Cllr Mzobanzi Ntuli.
